the ‘general public doesnt consent to your sex acts’ shit is like, fine and good for couples walking each other around on leashes in the mall but i think if youre going to an event that celebrates gay love among other things you have to be emotionally prepared for the fact that there are going to be gay people openly expressing aspects of their romantic and sexual relationships, which may include stuff thats considered kink. no one is condoning actual sex acts taking place, because that doesnt like… Happen . i was taken to pride festivals as a kid. i was not traumatized by seeing gay men doing their own thing while showing a little skin. the ‘think of the children’ rhetoric is homophobic

and again these criticisms flaring up again are almost certainly from people who dont actually go to pride events considering most pride festivals have specialy delineated adult areas where any actual like heavy adult stuff will be taking place (which still isnt public sex but you might see some bondage or whatever, o the horror), and also that They Arent Even Happening This Year
