Reminder that it’s legal to swipe someone into the subway as you’re coming out. If you have a weekly or monthly pass, it costs you nothing.
It’s never been about fare evasion. It’s about punishing the poor black & latino people & creating a revenue stream. If I don’t pay a toll on the highway, I get a ticket by mail to pay instead if being arrested. Many NYC highway tolls are well over $2.75.
